pudge returns to texas

i just heard on the radio that pudge is with the yankees - i had no idea!  i listened to a small portion of last night’s game driving to and from the store.  when i was heading out, the rangers were down 4-0 to the blue jays.  then chris davis hit a 2 run homer and made it 4-2 by the time i got to the store.  when i came out, the rangers were ahead 5-4 and proceeded to make it 8-4 by the time i arrived home.  exciting baseball!

i don’t have cable or satellite so i was checking to see if the game will be on tv tonight and it looks like we should be able to pick it up.  even though he’s not with the rangers, it will be good to see pudge again.

  1. Actually, it was Murphy who hit the two-run homer and Byrd hit a grand slam homer in the bottom of the 9th to win it (and don’t get me started on Josh Hamilton’s diving catch with two outs in the top half of the 9th with a runner on second). Very exciting baseball…

…and it was weird seeing Pudge in a Yankees uniform…not to mention him wearing #12 (#7 is retired for the Yanks in honor of Mickey Mantle).

  2. I was referring to Sunday’s game with Davis’ homer - I’m pretty sure it was Davis that night. Last night’s game was exciting to watch. Got to see the whole thing! But I think the rest of the series is on a cable network so I won’t get to see it. I’m going to be pretty busy anyway so it’s just as well.

And yeah, not seeing #7 on Pudge was weird. I think the TV broadcasters mentioned it several times (and about Mantle’s number). And Tom Grieve did go on for quite awhile about Derek Jeter. I should have listened to Nadel…
