i just heard on the radio that pudge is with the yankees – i had no idea!  i listened to a small portion of last night’s game driving to and from the store.  when i was heading out, the rangers were down 4-0 to the blue jays.  then chris davis hit a 2 run homer and made it 4-2 by the time i got to the store.  when i came out, the rangers were ahead 5-4 and proceeded to make it 8-4 by the time i arrived home.  exciting baseball!

i don’t have cable or satellite so i was checking to see if the game will be on tv tonight and it looks like we should be able to pick it up.  even though he’s not with the rangers, it will be good to see pudge again.

moving along and starting from the beginning

we got our oldest son registered for 2 classes at a community college – they will be dual credit, high school and college.  i ordered 3 of his 4 books from half.com and the other we’ll pick up at the college bookstore.  i hope he has a good experience this first semester.  he’s pumped about the computer science class, not so much about the english class, as i suspected.

on the other end of the spectrum, it’s time to teach my little guy how to read – i think he’s ready and we got a great report from the ophthalmologist this week.  the vision in both eyes is equal!  and we can now patch only 1 hour a day instead of 2.  we’ll see if the reading program i already have will work for him… or if he’ll need something different.  i used “teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons” with my first then “reading made easy” with the second and third. i’m going to see if rme works for this one and if not, we’ll try something different.  i do love the gentle style of reading made easy but the beauty of homeschooling is that i can find what is best for this child.  the adventure begins again!
